The funding landscape is changing - spending cuts, competitive commissioning and increased regulation have left many organisations vulnerable.
Some organisations have looked beyond governments, trusts/foundations and voluntary income sources and entered commercial markets. By offering something of tradable value, they have generated new income that has strengthened the organisation and helped them to further their social mission. Creating a surplus (profit) through trading activity can deliver an additional, sustainable source of unrestricted income.
This isn’t for everyone. Not every organisation will have the means, capabilities or tradable assets to do this. We want to help organisations to identify what is possible and to help the make the most of their opportunities.
There is an increasing demand for brands to act ethically and provide a positive social contribution. More and more brands are entering the social space and benefiting from doing so. We believe that there is an opportunity for social organisations to benefit from entering into this ethical commercial space.
